This is my favorite comment out of the bunch...
"Dont: Go to art school and study photography (if you enjoy photograph)
Do: get a useful degree that you can find good work in.
Dont: waste your time waitering and waiting for your ship to come in when someone recognizes some spark of talent that you just know they'll see. You just know it! You'll break out! You're one in a million!
Do: earn good money working a 9-5, get insurance, get a sweet loft in the city, save some cash and buy all those cool Leicas you want. Long lenses, short lenses, whatever, get a new camera every few months. Enjoy your photography, and bust a gut laughing at all the photo hipsters filling your gas tanks and desparate to buy their next roll of TMax."
Although, I should add that it might help to take one or two classes, as long as those classes cover some of the technical aspects of cameras. |
