Fake. Slow the video down and you can see all the f*ck ups after the eagle "drops" the child. Trying to find the article showing the dupe.

The video was created using altered footage of the 1972 Canada USSR Summit Series.

Funny I just literally saw this video on facebook. Interesting analysis. The only point I'm not sure they have right is how much a bird that size can lift. I think a large eagle could lift a 10kg kid. I recall this story about an eagle with a salmon crashing through someone's window.

Didn't see that one, but I do recall seeing a video of eagles (in South America I believe) who would grab mountain goats and drag them over the edge of a cliff and then swoop down the mountainside for a rather nice lunch.

And if you google 'eagle hunting deer' you should stumble across an 11-second vid of a Berkut (aka Mongolian/Russian Steppes golden eagles) bringing down an adult deer.
Ray, I recall seeing a vid similar to the one you refer to. A golden eagle had its eye on a goat kid, landed on the same ledge as the kid...then literally grabbed it by the leg and pulled it off the ledge. The fall the poor kid took did all the work. That's nature for you, red in tooth and claw. And talon. |

I saw that one. The rest of the mountain goats launched a vigorous counter-attack.

Truly awesome! I enjoyed that a lot. Of course, in a battle between man and eagle on a cliff's edge, I'm not sure the man would prevail. And, it's a different era now with the eagle protection act in place. (I was cheering for the eagle.) LOL!!! |
