For a decent photo incorporating a near perfect Fibonacci Spiral (aka Divine Proportion), I'm wondering.

After going through some of the entries... I think it would have been helpful if the viewer was informed if it was a "proportional" shot or "non-proportional" shot.
There are some where I'm just not sure?
Not trying to sway any votes... ESPECIALLY since the challenge description blatantly said it could be either.
ETA: I'm trying to comment on each of them. I will try and comment on at least half of them. With more than just "I like this shot" or "I don't like this"

Take a shot that shows proportion or the lack thereof. |

The single comment alludes to the lack of "proportions'". duh! No idea why the good image is scoring sub 5. |

well that would mean that it would show things out of proportion right? however people seem to have taken that to mean upload any old photo (ie lack of showing proportion). |

Some people shot for proportion within the composition, e.g. golden mean. Others shot to represent proportion between subjects. Now if description says show proportion or lack thereof, given these 2 scenarios, I have a hard time figuring out what does not meet the challenge somehow. Suggest you enter a few challenges and you'll experience the overwhelming support for your own interpretations, or lack thereof ;-) |

suggest my subjective opinion on a topic is not dependent on whether or not I enter a challenge |

since you started discussing this in the forums which im sure is a rule violation, as well as richards post about what is or isnt proportion my score has gone from 6.4 to 5.9 so what ever yo wanted to achieve its had an affect on my score,
7 comments on my way upto 6.4, not one single comment on my way down to 5.9..... |

someone needs to re-write the the voting logic and the code, because going by my own analysis so far of numbers i cant figure out the logic... and i certainly know logic... i'd definitley like to see the formula and code for this... to see if its programatically correct, so far it doesnt add up from what i can tell, and computers do get things wrong, only the coders formula and programming can be at fault here... |

It always amuses me when someone tries to collate results of a popular judging contest with statistics.
Like you can equate a numerical value for impressions and personal preference......

it always amuses me that people can ignore the elephant in the room no matter how obvious or how many times its noticed by many people and still call it a sea lion in case someone else happens to notice you saw it, in order to try to prove a point without using logic. Who said anything about personal preference or value for impression having anything to do with calculation of numbers, its not just that people vote the way they do or don't; its about how those averages are being calculated and coded. if you want a discussion on value for impression and personal preference then open a thread and try and discuss that the same way as you can add two and two and get four its not 2+2=3.924245 and yes its relevant we all pay to be members, the council have their job and we have an interest and stake too, and we have a right to call in to question the voting or any other part of the site as members of it, even if its not upheld or dealt with we have the right to question it and have it reviewed... whether your a blue riboner or a last placer or just here for fun, if you enter a challenge you want to know its being calculated correctly..
its an emotional issue for some more than others, i am merely asking the question that it should be reviewed... and im not alone. |
