I just feel the urge to give credit where credit is due. "Yellow Fields" by Marbo is an image that almost knocked me off my chair. The sheer vastness, clarity and neat field.. yes, look at that field, it looks like they did a set up for Marbo.

And the straw yellow is just so moving. But then, by looking at Marbo's port, you see a consistent individual with great concepts and technique to match.

Well, my kudos go out to you and your image.

Yes, yes, I know. You have all told him so and it is like I am behind or just woke up. Not at all...I am just crying out from my keyboard that some images deserve a second round of applause. Here is mine.

I loved the shot, and gave an 8. I really wanted to give it a ten, but it was a bit too oversaturated.

That said.....I loved the shot and it deserved where it placed.

i would have voted this highly - but thought the sky looked rendered.

One of the few 10's I've given in the last few challenges went to Marbo's brilliant shot. I aspire to be able to create photos like that.

From the challenge rules (emphasis in original):

If you feel a photograph has violated the site rules, you may click the "Recommend Disqualification for this Picture" link and enter your reason why. You should then vote on the photo as if the rule was not broken, and leave the determination up to the administrators.

On the other hand a photo may look "rendered" without you actually thinking it violated any particular rule. If a "rendered" look is unappealing to you then it is perfectly valid to vote low.

i guess my point is the sky detracts from the image overall. IMO
i dont think it's the sky as scene by the photographer either.

Thanks Daniel, thats the nicest thing anyone at DPC has done for me.
Thanks again to everyone else that left a comment.

As for the sky looking rendered, well yes i guess it does look a little bit. This is just a result of increasing the saturation, the sky was perfectly clear.

I have to point out my favourite image of marbo's:

Its so simple, the yellow so perfect and beautiful. The delicate petals of the buttercup and the line of the stem which naturally draws your eye to the bloom is wonderful. I just love it.

Marbo is thinking... "If ya love me so much gimme a BLUE!" ;) I love your stuff especially the moon and sun shots I'm a sucker for those.
