I would bet most of the low scores are because 80%+ are water reflections shots... and the original challenge suggestion said not to use water or glass (if I remember correctly).
of course THE challenge doesn't state that... but I think some people have that in the back of their memory and may be subconsciously voting low due to that very reason.
also... as stated, most ARE water reflections... which gets mundane after a while... AND, there seems to be a shortage of creativity.
I didn't enter this challenge...
but had I entered, it wouldn't have been a water shot...

C'mon man! I strongly object to the discussion of specific (or groups) of challenge entries during the voting period. It's a clear violation of voting rules. The pertinent rule states, "You may not:
...
discuss any entry in the forums while voting is in progress...."
This kind of abuse of the rules does affect votes, because some people do not take the time to actually read the challenge description. You should rein it in and refrain from future rules violations. |

I'd be happy to hear what you have to say in comments after the challenge voting period ends, or in comments on images during the voting period. Not true. I didn't not state that I specifically feel that water shots were mundane and not creative. I stated that it gets mundane after a while. Seeing the same thing over and over DOES get repetitive. But, that's my opinion. And when someone (though not everyone) sees water shot after water shot, it appears that people may not have been very inspired by this challenge.
Does that mean that you, or anyone else for that matter, weren't inspired because a water shot may have been entered? Of course not. Does that mean that people should purposely low vote water reflections? No. That means that some, but not all people will vote low when they see a water reflection.
And, what I mean by "lack of creativity" is that there are not very many shots that do not consist of water. Hence, the "lack of creativity" comment.

The original suggestion is what he's talking about. The suggestion stated that shiny metal would be DNMC. Not the current challenge description.
