Been reading about this Leica module today..
Who would be interested in using film & digital together? You could get the exposure right in digital, then shoot the final image ion film. Sounds pretty neat to me.

It's similar to what pros have been doing for years before digital - only with Polaroid backs. Use the instant feedback to get the exposure correct, then shoot using those settings with the higher quality film.

If I remember correctly, one of the first digital cameras was a similar device that replaced the motordrive and back on a Nikon F3. It was basically touted as a preview tool, similar to Polaroid, but less messy and over time less expensive. |

Sort of struggle to see why you'd bother, in a 35mm format. I guess I see why with a medium format back, where the film resolution is more arguably better than equivalent sensors. But 35mm ?
I sort of do this already I suppose, shooting with a Rebel Ti and a D60, though the crop factor gets in the way a touch (!)

even with a medium format back, i don't know why you'd bother. current medium format digital backs, at 25 and 30mp are capable of just as high quality as MF film. i guess if the cost of the digital back was an issue, and this was more affordable then i could see that.
