Fred, that's just ridiculous. I just woke up over here, and eagerly clicked on this link.

Ok for you then Robert. Here it is again. It's just one does a lot of research to bring the links together to present it as an attractive whole and one hopes that others also find it interesting to make it all worthwhile. It's about a feelgood thing. Just nice when a few comments appear saying something like "yeah interesting" or "cool" or something like that.

Andre Kuipers is the Dutch astronaut who just returned from space and here are some of the photo's he took from the ISS International Space Station during the 6 months he spent on board.

Or you can look at all his photo's on his Flickr Photostream where he has also added English subtitles.

From the heart
The Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) is also delighted with André Kuipers. From the ISS, the astronaut took hundreds of photographs which have reached millions of people. âHis message is that we have to be careful with the worldâs natural resources. We only have one planet and we have to take good care of it,â says Dylan de Gruijl of WWF. Kuipers explicitly asked to become a WWF ambassador after his first space voyage.

His latest photographs not only show the Earthâs beauty but also the impact of deforestation, natural disasters and ongoing urbanisation. Our night-time illumination is even visible from space. âHis sense of commitment comes from the heart. He doesnât just read from a script. Itâs his own conviction.â

Thanks, Fred. Meanwhile, I was exploring on my own; here's a couple more links with differently-oriented collections:

as seen on Space.com

As seen on the Daily Telegraph

It's lovely to see a "real photographer" up there. Pity we didn't have him in DPC :-)
