Just to continue prostituting my Seattle pictures for attention, I tried split toning this shot last night. I quite like the result, with the warmer highlights and cooler shadows and mid tones.



Process was a whole lot easier than using duotones too, and all 16 bit.

Channel mixer to convert to B&W, monochrome checked, roughly 100% total balance between all of the channels. Then applied a curve to the greyscale result (not converting to greyscale/ 256 levels first either)

No duotones, no passing through greyscale and 256 levels, no hopping back and forth between RGB and duotones, not leaving 16 bit mode until the final convert to web or print output.
