Great work fixing that one up. Looks natural.

My sister is not the kind of person that would have her portrait done. So, I'm working one making one out of a shapshot.

She has joined the Peace Corps, and will be gone for two years. I'm hopeing to have this done to hang at my parents house while she is gone.

I like the "old styke" feel to your edit, but I think it looks a bit flat and lacks contrast. Is that a characteristic of old photos? I don't know, but I think it should have some black blacks and white whites to give it more 'umph' :)

I didn't consider this photo to be a keeper for a long time after I took it because it was so underexposed. Then I learned about ways of recovering shadow and highlight detail and experimented on it. To my surprise there was stil a lot of detail in the photo. I recently re-edited it again using the new Shadow/Highlight filter in PScs and the results were even better. I then decided to convert it to BW and add the film grain effect which seemed to compliment the photo. The grain is much more evident in the full size image. I was really glad I could save this photo because it means a lot to me. My friend in this photo died last year and this image captures him better then any of my other photos of him.

It's one I found on the net, but I can't remember where
it is a truetype font called "arabolic"

from the notes:
Arabolic TTfont. version 1.1 from afontgarde.
Updated, 05-Oct-2000
Loosely parabolic by design, looks vaguely like some
elegant Middle-Eastern script.
Hence the Arabolical name.
Includes numbers and all the usual characters.
Arabolic may be used freely for any purpose
(or whatever you think is a fair thing).
