My entry: 
These were taken on the same outing - the Barn Owl came out of nowhere; ypu can't believe how excited I was - and how I wished I hadn't just put my macro lens on the camera; fastest lens change in history while watching the owl catch a vole!

If I didn't have a serious shot, I figured I could always use this one. Timing is everything in wildlife photography! :)

Sad news: The second year in a row (that I know of) that this osprey nest and its baby have been lost to a storm. We had high winds about a week ago, and the nest is gone. It's incredibly sad. What an extremely rough life birds can have. :(
