With 58 votes, I had my first 6!
Down to 5.9xx now. Oh well, it was good while it lasted.
My Miniature went up by .5 points in the last 5 hours of voting. Wildly unlikely according the the vote spreadsheet :)

I have received the odd comment about no parallel lines converging etc.
I thought the challenge was Vanishing point?
There is certainly a vanishing point in my picture.

But I got a comment which just said "Sick!" I don't know what is it supposed to mean ???

Hi everyone...
This is the second challenge I'm in... so far I'm doing better than the miniature one ( hehe... Anyway I knew my pic was not great)
This time I have 3 good comments and that makes me happy... don't really care about the score =)

Maybe they mean "sick" in the good way, like "Bad" means "good" and "Cool" and "hot" are interchangeable?
I have gotten some fab comments, I'm really happy with this challenge so far, and it looks like alot of high scores all around. Good job everyone!

i was trying something different this time and i also got comments that said well you tried something different, but sorry I am more on the traditional side.

Hmm i was thinking, I did a better job this time, but looks like my scores are better only because the average is higher this time :((

Challenges like this one are really bad for my ego. Currently sitting at 4.5, which wouldn't be so bad if not for the comments saying that this is a high scoring challenge, and folks who say "not so good" and then show a score in the mid 5's.
Le sigh. :)

Wish I would have not been so insistant on having lines appearing to converge on the horizon and used a different (vertical) shot that had some real wow factor.

I keep swearing I won't make a last second (literally!) entry again. Looks like my VP entry will best even my Macro IV which was also a last second submission.
I think there's a lesson to be learned here.
It's not that I was lazy, it's just that I had no ideas. There must be a way to come up with an idea for the challenge sooner than 6 days 23 hours and 40 minutes. Does anyone out there have any creative strategies for coming up with good ideas for entries? I'm creatively inept. |

| If I find that the creative juices aren't flowing, sometimes I go to google images and type in the name of the challenge or a word related, just to look at images out there that portray a certain theme. It gives you an idea of what's out there and gets you thinking of what you could do thats better ;) |

Shoot, shoot, and shoot some more. If you think something "might" work, try it. I had about 20 ideas for vanishing point, and took about 20 versions of each idea before picking the best one for the challenge. So far it's scoring highest of all my shots so far.
edit: The advanctage of digital cameras is that you *can* do that :)

made me laugh that Setz posted this thread.
On first few votes, it seems to me that a large number of folks have not thought about the concurrent leading lines effect that goes with this challenge (quite apart from the fact that a vanishing point doesn't actually require parallel lines to emphasise it, and it is not required from the challenge description). Thus there seem to be a number of shots with strong leading lines and no subject at the end of them. Most wierd.
I also have no image in this challenge. Achance to get back to some serious commenting :-) You have been warned.

its really depressing that everyone is saying this is a high scoring challenge... I was aiming for high 5's, guess it might not be happening. At this point I regret not entering my other shot instead. Ah well! Its a learning experience, a few more comments saying what i did wrong would be appreciated :-)
