Applause and adulation to both of you guys!
Extra congrats to you Jacko for joining the ultra-elite 8+ club. Out of the 39,015 photos submitted to challenges here on DPC, only 17 have scored 8.000 or higher. That is quite an accomplishment, especially considering that the average vote given has steadily drifted downward since the site's inception.
Kudos again! |

Did anyone else notice how totally the Canon EOS 10D dominated the MacroIV challenge?
1st 10D Jacko
2nd 10D kirbic
3rd 10D graphicfunk
4th 10D smokeditor
5th Canon 60D richterrell
6th 10D jmsetzler
7th 10D mattrix
8th Nikon D70 joebok
9th 10D VisiBlanco
10th Sony 717 Imagineer
And no Rebels 'til 17th place???
EDIT:
I guess someone else did, and before me. :(
keegbow posted this in another thread "Take this anyway you want to but while we are talking stats i noticed seven out of the top ten images in Macro IV were taken with a Canon EOS 10D, interesting."

I thought feauture and spec wise that the Canon EOS-300D was a better camera than the Canon EOS 10-D... or is this a case of newer not necessarily being better?

The 300D is a slightly scaled-down, cheaper version of the 10D. |

Internally it is about the same. The differences are in build quality and external control/ interfacing. Some of the features that are lacking are directly applicable to macro work. Doesn't mean you can't do good macro work with a 300D, but probably means that photographers interested in doing good macro work would be more likely to buy a 10D over a 300D.

Well Done guys! That's moved the target even higher for us to top them. Now, go for the hat-trick! |

In a TV interview one of the Master Photographers (name slips me at this time) was asked what is the one question you get asked the most?
His answer:
The one question I get asked the most and it makes me very mad is "What equipment do you use" He said Photographers today are putting way to much emphasis on equipment! It does not matter what equipment you use it is what you see and what you shoot that counts the most. It is all in how you can use the equipment you have.
It appears Jacko (Bug Man) is raising the standards for the DPC challenges! especially as far as Macros are concerned and has become a valuable member to have around!
Edit: Corrected spelling (emphasis)
