Jagar's talent is truly amazing. Always a pleasure to see his work.

I was going to propose an "in the style of challenge" but from the looks of the winner's circle in the "close your eyes" challenge, it already took place.

A true testament to him is that, he already does inspire and influence members, to at least consider his aesthetic angle, and he's humble like a superhero- "all in days work for bicycle repair man."

I hope everyone would agree if I say that it is John who made the fineart black and white images to show up on the first page so often with an incredible ability to blend his vision and the challenge topics. He picked up his style very quickly and made it quite enjoyable to the viewers. Keep up the good work John! You are a true inspiration. :)

Whiteroom, paulbtlw, ursula, Levt, and jjbeguin are all above Jagar in that list and all have "fine arts" credentials of a high order. Not to diminish John's accom, plishment, of course, but just to point out he has some good company up there, and the voters of DPC do get it right a lot of the time :-)

If 2% is a lot, and it is a lot when you're checking for plutonium, then DPC gets it right a lot of the time.

What I like about jagar is he doesn't let it get to his head. He is all about getting a good image, not having a good image.

Hopefully, he will survive this thread. I think he will.

I completely agree! So, "one of the few" would have been more appropriate in my comment :). John is one among them to have identified his style and entertain the DPC-ers.

Even though I do not know John personally, I kinda think the same looking at his love for what he does.

I don't know him personally, either. He could be a total jerk! LOL

p.s. oh wait, I might want to vacation in his neighborhood some day. I love you, John!

I think you are correct, and I would be shocked if he didn't. Having shared plenty of cybertime via the WPL, I find him to be a genuine soul. You can see that in many of his street images, yes? Connects with strangers in a similar fashion as Deb melethia.

You can stop now, I'm already on my fifth beer, my hat doesn't fit anymore and i think I might be getting a crush on posthumous, you can come visit anytime Don ;)

Seriously though, the reason i like photography in the first place is because its like a walking meditation for me, the better i let go of the recurring crap in my head the better i spot moments to capture and also the better i feel, so you can stop inflating my ego now before i really become a jerk.

I'm Humbled by all your comments, thanks.

He stalks in a similar way, but gets much better results. I think it is only partly due to the quaint area of France in which he lives, but I have no doubt 9/10s of it is his skill, eye, and innate ability to produce stunning photography.

In other words, he's way better than me at it, but I do take some comfort in the fact I was a very early adopter of his work. :-)

He's currently no.1 in the Unofficial Points & Ribbon Race 2012

Not bad for a "bum"... congrats on your double winner (once again)

...you should have accepted my interview offer couple of months ago. There is still time if you change your mind ;)

I like John because he drinks beer, eats cheese, and smells of the ponies, cats and dogs he chases to shoot. And a most complying model in his wife.
