Yes... yes I do have an idea that I would like to share here, not there. Why? Because I am a lazy ass who doesn't want to click and scroll and register and stuff.
...same as like most of us, I am just a lazy guy... and that's the biggest reason I don't comment on photos even though I want to sometimes. "Meh"... who cares, just "click" on the vote and move on. There are tons of more coming ahead, no time to key something in even if the image really SUCKS or makes me drool.
So, why don't we have pre-typed comments under the voting, or even under each image. So, at least people can "start" something, if they want, they can edit or delete from the sentence.
say maybe 4 to 6 things "Technically wonderful", "Composition wise very good", "Colors little off", "Do not match to this challenge"... etc.
So, lazy people like myself, could "click" and "click" once more to move to the next image. |

I'd rather no comments than lazy redundant comments. I think it might actually be counterproductive and encourage people to be more lazy. People that might have left a short unique comment might say, "Eh, I'll just click this." |

I rather cry to a comment than no comment and get really angry about the score. I don't think people will click on any comment randomly (except those already using pigeons on their keyboards to vote)
I strongly stand by with my suggestion, it would be awesome, and it would not limit people. They can change the comment, add, edit or whatever they want to say extra... "click" could be the reason to start something, and start something "FAST" |

Easy enough. Just make a text file with your preset comments and then copy and paste as needed. I started doing that with my infamous comments about jpeg compression artifacts several years ago.

No no no... you don't understand... Copy and paste is TONS of work during voting. We want to be able to "Click" on something instead. So, if there is a DB table for that, we can just enter our comments ahead, when we're not doing anything else... and during a voting, we see those comments, click on them and move on.
People are getting extremely lazy... and when it comes to assembly-line style voting, we get lazier. |

Understand your point, Leo. However, the comments mean a lot more to me if my entry made someone stop long enough to leave one. A click 'n paste comment would mean very little to me. I prefer the present method.

I'd like a canned comment to be "you image is so boring that i could barely wait for it to load before moving onto the next." I'd like this comment to be automatically added to every image when i get the "you should wait for the image to load message..."
who do i see to get this implemented? |

Actually Steve's idea is pretty good for me, i agree with him that canned responses will degrade the quality of comments. Three are many times however when i type the a similar comment and would wish i had it preset.
i suck at typing, so its a chore for me to get through them sometimes.
-edited becuase i suck at typing.

Please don't hate me for pointing this out, but I find it amusing that there's a couple folks opposed to Leo's idea that have simply said "+1" to others' posts saying the pre-typed comments would be less meaningful. Ahh, irony... :) |

really don't see the point in this because it would take (maybe)a couple of challenges for the 'I'm not getting enough/any comments' rant to read 'I'm only getting preset comments' |

that settles it, we need to add "+1" to the canned response list. |
