...and how long did it take you to get used to it to the point you would never use a mouse? I've just got mine and it feels awkward. I know that playing with it for just a few minutes isn't really 'experience' and I will be doing some basic stuff to get myself used to it, I just wondered how long it has taken others.
I need to setup my Intuos5 to do stuff for photoshop and I'm trying to figure out how to setup the express keys for the functions I want...I really want one to be 'Open Nik Efex' but I can't figure out where to do that...still need to play around with it and watch more youtube...everyone makes it look so easy...I can't wait to be one of those people. |

| I used to have an Intuos3 at work and after about a week I never touched the mouse. I can't give any advice about the key setup, I was using it for software development at the time. |

I have a Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch. I draw/write left handed and use my mouse with my right hand. I only use my Wacom for editing, and I think it's a nice setup with the tablet on the left and the mouse on the right. I can switch between keyboard shortcuts and the mouse with my right hand while doing the fine motor work with my left hand.
I don't think I'll ever go exclusively to the tablet, but I imagine those who do use it exclusively took a shorter amount of time to get used to it. |

I wish I could help you more setting up the shortcut keys Jason, but I have only had my Intuos 4 a short while and haven't changed any of those from the default yet. As I remember though, Wacom had several good tutorials on their site and I'm pretty sure one of them deals with key adjustments.
I still use my mouse quite a bit and have gradually started moving the pen more into the workflow. I think transitioning gradually may be the the key to avoiding frustration- baby steps :) |
