The video is sad but inspiring. I'm not sure how many people have or haven't seen it. It's a movement to try and get the #1 most wanted man ICC list for rape, child abduction, murder, genocide...you name it.

Glad to see I didn't need to make a new thread about it! Happy someone already did the honors of putting it on here for all to see.

Every year for the past 3 years we (my school) has done a big fundraiser for the "Invisible Children". There is a spokesperson who comes to chapel every year to talk about the movement to put this whole ordeal "on blast" (as the spokesperson said) for all to see.

That is a terribly sad thing. If this were happening in a country with an abu dance of, oh I don't know, say oil, we would be on it like flies on shit. But, since there is no monetary gain to speak of it will be allowed to go on.

Didn't see the original thread.

For those interested in the Kony 2012 campaign then this is very much worth a read. Interesting stuff.

Monologue; not to be taken seriously.

Who cares? It's only dark Africa, so what? Even the people of Africa say the soil is red because of the blood of the people of Africa. Tribalism and fanaticism and what ever -cism there is you will encounter. Rebels? Tribes? NO OIL?!?
Where is Africa?

We jump on Iraq, Iran, Syria.... why not fly in a squadron of bombers and flatten the rebel camps? Oh, sorry, we do not interfere in simple domestic disputes. Especially not in a 'democratic' country in Africa without oil. Africa for Africa. Who cares.

How many millions more can be killed without interference? I suppose that is up to Africa, not so?

More on the well-meaning, but mis-informed and potentially damaging hoards of KONY 2012 online activists.

‎"What are the consequences of unleashing so many exuberant activists, armed with so few facts?"

The response reads a lot better than the small minded, self righteous criticisms. What motivates these people?

I don't really see the criticisms as small minded or self-righteous rather the informed opinions of people close to the issue.

Like i said in the other thread, i don't really know what i think about the issue but when i do come across a video that is as emotive as the KONY 2012 one i try my best to seek out as much information about it as possible and hopefully any criticism as well so as to try and make a more reasoned opinion.

I quite agree, no point in jumping on a bandwagon without testing out it's roadworthiness!
