This is corny as hell and is going to hurt my hipster cred but I never liked the song Cruising too much but I like the version Gwyneth Paltrow and Huey Lewis perform in Duets.

"Don't You Forget About Me" from the The Breakfast Club

I've never seen the whole movie, but shomehow I manage to see that scene time and time again. Everytime I hear it on the radio I ask my boyfriend, "What movie is that from again??"

Oh and definately "I've Had the Time of My Life" from Dirty Dancing.

Hehe, every classical song played in Ren & Stimpy. It's kinda sad since I used to like some of those pieces very much. But now, every time I hear one of those old classics, a creepy feeling crawls up my neck and I hear a couple of voices in my head saying:

"hey REeen!"
"what iS IT MAN!"

Feels kinda stupid when you are watching a concert from tele and you get these weird associations which so few persons undertand ;D.

Actually, while we're on this topic, can anyone help me figure out who plays a certaing song from the movie "La Bamba?" It's the last song in the movie and plays right before the credits. I originally thought it was a Ritchie Valens song but I've never been able to find it. It's an instrumental song played with a slide quitar. I love the song but have no idea where to find it. Anyone have any ideas?

Carlos Santana was heavily involved with the sound track. Most of the guitar rifts in the background music are performed by him

Run, don't walk, to Blockbuster. Rent it. Maybe even buy it. It will help you young'uns understand us "old" 80s folks. ;o)

There are some good songs listed in this thread... I definitely agree with Ami about "Don't You Forget About Me" from Breakfast Club and K-Rob with "In Your Eyes" from Say Anything.

Another one for me was "This Woman's Work" by Kate Bush from the film "She's Having A Baby".

"It's Your Thing" and "Fight the Power:Part II" from Out of Sight. Like the movie, whenever that comes on, which isn't very often, I think of the movie and its moods, its coolness, and it's characters. I love that movie.

I mentioned The Crying Game-- the movie, anyway. I pointed out how suitable When a Man Loves a Woman was for the opening credits. Also, Lyle Lovett's cover of [[]Stand by Your Man[/i] for the end credits was memorable, also. I really like the song, The Crying Game but I had never heard until that movie so it doesn't really count as a song that was changed for me after viewing the movie. ;-D

I mentioned this thread to my husband last night and the first thing he said was, "Reservoir Dogs.Stuck in the Middle", which is what opened this thread in the first place.

Eddie, another great one. I had to buy that CD. My daughter got mauled by a dog when she ws little, and after all of the stitches were in place and I knew everything was going to be okay, I stepped out to have a smoke & thought of that song. It helps me through a lot of times. I love it!!!
