Too much work to comment on 285 photos, but I'd be happy to give my opinion after the voting. I don't know if it is against the rules to have someone PM if they want feedback on their photo while it is in a challenge. |
That's kosher, as long as you don't change your vote because of it. |

MORE AND MORE PHOTOS ARE LOOKING LIKE PAINTINGS THESE DAYS, ESPECIALLY IN THIS FREE STUDY, SOME GOOD, SOME NOT SO GOOD...
I AM PLEASED I FOUND SOME AMAZING IMAGES AND THEY STOOD OUT ABOVE THE REST...
SO MANY PHOTOS, IN THIS CHALLENGE, ARE NOT AS PLEASING AS THE USUAL 'FREE STUDY', BUT THE ONES I DID ENJOY, ARE AMAZING...
THANK YOU FROM SHEZ

Sitting just under 6. It has been a long dry spell for me, photographically speaking, so I am thrilled to have anything over 5.5--or that I didn't shoehorn due to a lack of time to find better subject matter. But alas, my rough start of the year for work seems to be finally abating. Best of luck to my fellow photog's out here in the FS pool. |

Good, but not great. About as anticipated, actually.

In that case, if anyone wants a comment/feedback, I'm happy to do so, just send a PM with the title of your photo. I'm a newbie, but I'll give my 2 cents. |

Better than expected. I like the subject of my photo but felt that it suffered from technical flaws |

I wish I lived in an area with great landscapes. This flat state is holding me back. |

+1 Sherpet, I voted on all the images last night. I commented on a couple and plan on going back through and commenting on ones I thought had a lot of potential if they were possibly processed a little differently. But depending on people's budgets etc... we will see if they get back to me on the software they are using and what they are doing. I also saw a lot of over-sharpening and saturating creating that oil-painting effect. But like I said there is a lot of shots that are good, and have a lot of potential with the right nudge in the right PP direction. Good luck to everyone in the challenge. If I commented on your image and you can see my name feel free to PM me possibly I can help with some different PP techniques depending on the software being used.
Some of them look to me like they are proccessed in OEM software like iPhoto which does a lot of destructive editing, VS software like Aperture or Lightroom which give far less destructive results, it could also be overcompensation for slight OOF, combined with monitor resolution/calibration... who knows, here to try and help if I can. As I said before lots of beautiful shots, good luck to everyone.
Nick

Or maybe your monitor is out...................?????
I awoke to a 4.6 14 hours later it's a 6 never had that before... Will drop I bet but apart from resize and white balance adjustment is straight out the camera.

Since I was expecting a lot more out of this photo (I have a 12x18 matted and framed on the wall) I am a bit disappointed by this score so far, though a LOT of people have yet to vote. I would sure like to see more comments... but since I rarely comment I guess I can't ask for a lot! |

I am knocking on door number 5.....I am so close to 5 it hurts...I have only broken that threshold 5 or 6 times...Why is it so hard to get over the hump.
