Welcome to this week's "Member of the Week" post. Every week I will post the name of a member and a link to their profile. This will be our Member of the Week. Go have a look at their profile page and/or portfolio. Enjoy their photos, leave some comments and most of all post one or two of their photos in this thread so others can see them and enjoy them. If you like you can also write a little blurb saying why you enjoy this member's photos.
This week's Member of the Week is Jon_H. And here are a couple of his photos.

I purchased my first DSLR 17 months ago as my daughter began showing an interest in photography. I knew she would be asking me how to use the various settings so I decided to learn for myself.
A work based rivalry started off my DPC obsession and what started with the intention of improving our photos between Lawrysimm, Andycreer and me has turned into an interest that now takes up any free time I have.
I can now say the DSLR is mine as my daughter is more interested in being in front of the camera which is good for me as I have a ready made model, even if it does cost me £5 a photo shoot.
Without this site the DSLR would have been gathering dust. I spend most of my internet time either on this site or browsing photo tutorials with the sole intention of improving.
The DPC community for me is a great tool for improving your own skills or in my case getting some skills.
For all those who have helped me over the last 17 months either through comments, advice or a great vote, I thank you.

Well done Jon... after persuading you to get into this site I'm somewhat embarrassed that it's now just over a year since I entered a shot myself. So much for the intra-office challenge!
I have seen you grow as a photographer very quickly in such a short space of time, and you are clearly applying what you are learning from the tutorials and DPC. Now that you are a hat-trick of ribbons ahead of me I really must pull my finger out and up my own game.
Your profile pic is one of my favourites
Mostly because it takes a couple of moments to see the gun, and I like the motion in the cards. Nicely done
