Hi, Ive been told before that the rules of 3 and cropping are areas I need to work on. Here are two photos I tried to implement these suggestions into. Comments/Critiques?

The second one is classic so it's good. On the first one, it seems like to crop is too abrupt. Part of the flower is cut off on the side and it feels, to me, that it should be in the picture. I don't mind the top petals so much. I've been know to be wrong a lot, but I hope this helps. |

realize you don't have to crop square....
The first one's crop is thrown off cause there is a corner of black in the top right corner making the flower feel cut off in the center top....
I understand you don't want to lose any of the moth....(which is quite nice). Consider cropping on an angle rotation. (Does that make sense?)
If you did so, you could probably get all the moth, and cut out the top left black space. Thus, you would still lose some of the flower but it'd be a solid edge of yellow, (more akin to the second cropping)
