What the hell is he talking about? Maybe some prerequisite examples will help.
Mannerism:
Pontormo
-
Neo-mannerism:
Ernie Barnes (More images)
-
Photoneomannerism:
Photography in the style of the second example: Elongated figures, exaggerated poses, rapturous expressions, a graceful sort of energy, and color -- lots of color. Yeah, I came up with the term on my own. There are references to "photomannerism" but none to "photoneomannerism." Well, until now.
Candid or set-up. (I prefer candid, of course.) Minimal or expert.

I want this challenge topic. Not least for the fun of reading the 'WTF?' thread that would surely follow the official challenge announcement. You are a wicked fellow. |

I just might start that thread myself! It sounds intriguing, but also has me scratching my head to try and figure out how to do a photograph that suits it.

Spent a lot of time looking at Ernie Barnes' work. |

Candid? That would be impressive based on the examples given. Naturally the salted wounds are your suggested rulesets, but I hope this makes the cut. |

Wouldn't that be what one sees in Vogue, Elle, Victoria's Secret, etc? Fashion Photoshopography...? XD |

Yes to bemusing the DPC community. No to restaging existing works of art. Yes to Ernie Barnes (dy-no-mite). No to Vogue. DX to you too.
Candids can work. A wide angle, novel point of view -- even creative use of blur -- can go a long way to enhance or elongate human forms. This is photography; women with eight foot long arms are hard to come by. But we can fake it.
