Greetings all,
Ever use a dartboard trying to determine which shot to use?
UGH!
Here were 3 of my alternates:
(I know Kittens DON'T score well, but I was close to using one of them, as I feel they captured the mood of life's uncertainty at 5 weeks. Not really being a Macro, I opted not to)
Opinions requested. (no icing please)
  
My submission appears to be the right choice, as it's sitting at 6.400, and I consider that terrific, considering the camera I have and the competition it's up against!

They are all excellent,
I would have scored any of them pretty high.

I love kitties...and both of the shots of the baby are wonderful. I especially like the last one for the way the whiskers stand out against the dark background. I'm not really crazy about the orchid, although a fine shot...it's just a bit too alien-ish for me. 6.4 is fabulous and shows you made a good choice. I bet the kitty-haters would have been out in force, no matter how good the pictures are. :o)

| I am partial to the Lady Slipper orchid. The shine on that is just gorgeous ... so delicious looking. Would rate very high from me. |

Thanks for the feedback Paul, Laurie & Ken.
Shame that fearing the Kitty Haters would crawl out of the woodwork on 2 of these shots would keep either them from being submitted.
I was going to go down in flames anyway, until I stumbled into a good shot on Sunday.
(Whew!)

| So this is what the kitten you rescued looks like now! She looks great. Too bad you couldn't get Annabelle to run after one of those bugs we are seeing so much of in this Challenge. The bug folks and the cat folks would have a field day! |
