I'll be honest...I never really used actions in PS. Once I got Nik software Color Efex I was kind of hooked on mixing the different effects in that. I still preferred to do all my adjustments via PS though. But then I ran into a photo I liked, wondered how the editing went into it and the photographer said it was mostly because of an action she had downloaded. So last night I went in search of some cool actions for PS.
What I see in some of the engagement photography is that 50's or 60's color pallet. As an example:
This isn't exactly what I saw (I'm trying to look for it in my browser history) but it's kind of a brownish retro look but not ALL the way retro.
Does anyone have a good source for actions with examples of the actions. In Japan most of the engagement photos I've seen go through very little PP. They are natural, but sometimes boring shots. I don't do that many weddings but I'd like to give these actions a shot, see if I can't pull it off with some of the photos I already have.

I just started using actions when I did my first wedding and that saved me a TON of time. I created all my own actions for that purpose. Now I have a few actions setup for things I do on 90% of all my images and it is nice to be able to just start an action. |

I rarely use them any more, since Topaz came along. Once in a while I still use VirtualPhotographer or filter forge. But here's a good link for you... //photo.tutsplus.com/articles/post-processing-articles/100-free-photoshop-actions-and-how-to-make-your-own/ |
