Interesting that the brand new Macro Indoor challenge entry that just went for votes last night is less than ten votes behind my Book title entry in # of votes and views... hmm... is this because people find that subject more interesting? More entrants? I wonder.

ShutterRev, I think as numbers have shown, there are lots more entries in the open competition, and I suspect many entries came from "non-members" like me. And we are not allowed to vote in the member's competitions, only in the open ones. So this might be where the difference in numbers come from, rather than interest...

You're right, but in any case in this challenge I have only 65 votes... it almost never happens.

Everyone likes a comment - not happy with the number I currently have I have decided to not complain and give some compliments/critiques out.

Stats: You have rated 115 of 116 images (99%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 11 images (9%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 5.8000.

If everyone just left comments on 20% of the images (that number is about 23) then I am sure everyone will have at least a comment maybe even 4. So, who else is going to join in?

Bump -

Stats:
You have commented on 15 images (13%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 5.8000.

Anyone else up for commenting on 20%?

More is good of course if you have the time.

My thanks to the 4 commentors who took the time to leave a comment or their impression on my entry. I appreciate it.

Don't you just hate it when you have enough votes that every up or down vote brings you over a .x000 like in my case, whenever I check in it seems I have an up or a down so I go from x.4989 to x.5000 and down, then x.5000 then down.. etc... oh the rollercoaster that is the refresh button :)

It is refreshing to see that nobody wants to reveal their scores! :)
PS There must lots and lots of 7s.

My score:

I wish the score could be singing "Shiny Happy People" but it's more like "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" - oh, wait those are song titles and not scores;-)

A 7 would be dreamy, and a goal of mine.. but alas I will def. not be getting a 7 this time around :)

And someone just threw one way below the belt, so I dont need to worry about that .5000 any more, heh.

Well, I don't know how useful comments from a newbie are, but I'll make a go of leaving some comments.

Thanks, Cnovack, for the wonderful comment! I've yet to vote in the challenge but I will also try to do 20% commenting when I do.

And I do not have scores turned on at the moment, but based on an early check, I do not have a 7. I do, however, have 10 awesome comments, 2 favs, and the hope of clinging to a barely-6!

Sometimes as you are commenting and critiquing you see things in a new way. I have made some pleasant discoveries among the titles represented here (one actually became a happy discovery/distraction that took me away from DPC while off enjoying:-) ) And the more you look at things critically (pros & cons of the image) not only do you enrich the artist (one hopes) with your impression but you enrich yourself because you grow.

O.K went a little above 20% and bumped up a handful from my earlier voting in the week.

You have commented on 24 images (21%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 5.8087.

Very true, I have critiqued/received critique in another art, that of writing, for two years now, and I can definitely say the critique process benefits both the critiquer and the critiqued.

@mefnj, I'm glad it was of some use.
