is it possible to get slides/transparencies made from digital images?
If so, how? At what cost? where?
Also, is it worth it?

I know a couple of places near where I work which can each make 35mm (up to 4x5 or 8x10) transparencies/slides or negatives (from which you can make prints).

I will post their web addresses tomorrow, but here''s phone numbers (Berkeley, CA):
Cantoo, Inc. 510-540-0291
Custom Process: 510-527-6900

Or maybe you can track them down...

Worth it or not depends on what you need them for, and how badly. I think mounted 35mm slides run about $2-5 each; I suspect a 4x5 would run about $25 (and need a HUGE file to take advantage of the film''s resolution -- say 130MB). If you''re going to make a few (copies of) prints, I''d go directly to paper.
