Using Excel or another spreadsheet, figure out your average score of 2010 and 2011, and see if you have improved over the year.
2010
Entries: 43
Average: 5.41
2011
Entries: 46
Average: 5.62
So for me, the increase wasn't super extreme but still obviously an improvement

Maybe not super extreme like you said, but that's still a significant increase! Way to go! I'd play along but I didn't enter enough times in either 2010 or '11 to even register. :) |

Haha, for those who think its a lot of work, it takes literally thirty seconds.
You copy and paste your scores into excel, highlight all of the scores, and then hit the mean function, and it figures it out for you. |

2010: 5.449
2011: 5.7682 and more importantly, my first ribbon :)
So I guess 2011 was good to me... Hopefully I can enter more challenges in 2012, 2011 was difficult because we had our first child and shooting time was scarce. Its good to see some improvement though, progress is always welcome... Here's to a good 2012 to all :) |

I think Ben is right that improvement shouldn't be based purely on scores. Maybe ups or downs in "DPC Friendliness" would be a better way to look at it?
I was mostly curious to see how many entries I did each year and was pleased to find that my images apparently got more "friendly" :P

My 2011 average score is 5.7856 with 42 entries...
My 2010 average score is 5.2853 with 17 entries...
My lowest score in 2011 is 4.5798........ My highest score in 2011 is 6.6269
My lowest score in 2010 is 4.1727........ My highest score in 2010 is 5.9206
Pretty pleased with that difference! :)

| all five of my profile images are from this year, 4 of them from a 6 week period in the summer. i managed a 7, i've come within 0.01 of my goal of losing the fourpointx moniker. i've gotten a posthumous, a bluebird, an order of the thumb, and an HM. i'm pleased with my progress without doing the math. |

From my top 10 scores, 5 are from 2011, including PB. As well, I manage to "improve" my PW that gave me a Brown ribbon - which is a feat in itself! :o)
So, I guess I can call it an improvement. In any case, I'm glad with this year's results...

So it's a math challenge? Ha!
I know if I counted them, I entered more challenges this year than last (and I'm pretty sure my average went up some)...
But I know there are people here who entered more than me.... in fact I know at least one person who entered EVERY challenge so far this year!!! |
