So, I'm on vacation & I have been shooting my brains out. Mostly marco stuff, hoping to get anice pic for the upcoming challenge. Got some nice stuff, but nothing extraoadinary that I want to enter... just yet. I did save one that I will use as a back in case the shot of my dreams does not see fruition.
I have been building my macro gallery & have added oodles of shots. Would love to get some feedback so if ya ogt some time, please check 'e, out here.
The link takes you to the shots I took at the Botanical Gardens. Back in the Macro folder, there are also some new shots around the house & stuff!
Thanks in advance!

Very nice!
I was thrown by your gallery, as I thought at first glance that everything was badly underexposed. Obviously, once I mouseovered the thumbnails, I worked out that this was a feature(!), but if I had a way to turn that off, I would.

Great Work...Love the photos.
I like the way the site is set up to.

I also dislike that pBase "feature", since if makes it hard to view the thumbs as a whole without having to mouse over each one to see it at its intended brightness.

Awe Eddy, I thought it looked neat, now I have to rethink the page format.
Anyone else dislike it?

Sorry Rooster, nice pics.

I like it. :) But then my monitor is bright enough to still see the image, even darkened.

It's not that I can't see the thumbnails... they just look underexposed, just like Bob thought. I'm not used to going to a "thumbnails" page and having to mouse over an image to see the "real" brightness of the image. A thumbnail is supposed to be a smaller version of the underlying picture, not a smaller, underexposed version. Can you imagine if that is how the thumbnails here on DPC worked (i.e., when viewing challenge results, or the thumbs of winners on the front page)? Ick.

I like the fact that it is only IE that supports that feature, because its a Microsoftism

progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=60);

what an unfortunate expression! very graphic!

the photos look like they're gonna be lovely - i'm particularly attracted to the shallow depth of field shots. you must add some bigger examples at some time. also liked the insect floating on its back - if you could super-impose a miniature tin of beer on one leg i think it would prove most effective.

also, which botanical gardens are they.. i know they all look the same, really, but i aminterested.

There are quite a number of people who dislike the dimmed thumbnails, I use to get quite a number of PM's saying as such. If you like the layout but not the dimmed thumbnails you can remove the feature via the CSS.

New Yorj Botanical Gardens.

Ummmm.. dunno what to say about the layout format in my galleries other than I like it that way.
So, say, any comments on the pics rather than the gallery? :)
