Ok this is my new plan. Buy the R800 for proofs or quick copies and then send out to have my work printed online. Hey for $2.50 per photo and at that quality why wouldn't I?

My main issue with photoaccess, dotphoto, ofoto, shutterfly etc is the wide variance in their color renditions. When I started looking for places to prints, I put together a set of 10 prints that I knew how I wanted to look, and sent them to the various places. Every single place printed them very differently - and they don't provide the facilities you need to control those variances.

Certainly worth spending the upfront time to comapre the quality - e.g., some of them use the cheapest, least protecting shipping envelopes. Largely, you get what you pay for. and when you are paying 29c, that isn't a whole lot to expect much for.

Sounds good, and once you're familiar with both then either one can serve as a backup for the other. Note that PhotoAccess and Shutterfly both offer ten free 4x6 prints for signing up. Why not get some samples to help you decide?
