Oh my God, is it hard to find Waldo here?!

I can see the person even in the miniature...

Always glad to get a 1 when my score was reaching 6.10... I guess at the end of this challenge I'll be very angry...

lols. Dropping like feather :-) Should of called this a minimalist waldo challenge.

I Think these photos DNMC, as the details say hide a person in an otherwise person-less photo. I was of the same opinion the number that could not have a person in them because of the title Somewhere here or somewhere there (example only) really are testing our intelligence or stupidity. cheers

Well, after taking a look at the images I have to say that in 5 or 6 I couldn't find Waldo even searching for 1 or 2 minutes...

... I was worried about mine, what a fool! ;-)

You have rated 107 of 107 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 107 images (99%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 7.5421.

There are 14 photos in the challenge that don't appear to have Waldo visible. If you used a fake one I still counted it as Waldo although I don't feel it was right as the description did state 'a person' not a cutout!!!

Well, you saw mine. Thanks. Another commenter thinks I don't really have one.

Hey voters....use Ctrl+ Scroll on your mouse to zoom into photos..you might be able to see the hiding Waldo...failing that...get some glasses!! LOL!

+100!

Judi, you've seen mine :)

LOL - I vacillated between entering one that would be DNMC for being stunningly obvious
and one that was really hard to find, and DNMC for "it isn't there!"
Which one did I go with? Heh,Heh.
I will only say my score has gone from 4.85 early this am to 5.37 a few moments ago.

You didn't find mine, but I assure you, he's there. ;D

I've got my glasses on, my control scroll going.......searching.......searching.........I really can't believe anyone submitted with no one in the frame, but I'm beginning to think the trick of this challenge was to make the figure subtle, but pretty easy to find. Neither dead center foreground, nor three pixels high on the horizon.

+1. My figure is subtle, and definitely more than 3 pixels high (I could have but didn't enter an image where Waldo would have been the size of 2 hot pixels) but I wouldn't necessarily call it easy to find. Maybe if people look a teeny bit more for a body part or two, and follow it, they might have more success. And that's all I'm saying :-)

I too got a comment that they couldn't find my waldo...it's quite obvious "if you really look"
09/14/2011 09:02:28 PM · #45
I found two more Waldo's although one isn't a real person. That sill leaves 12 missing Waldo's. And for the record, if I could see your Waldo you got a 7 or above....if I couldn't find Waldo you got a 5 or a 6 depending on the quality of the image.

My eyeballs hurt! I think I need a magnifying glass for some of these images. Waldo's got to be there somewhere.

I am voting on this like Goldilocks would - some Waldos are too easy to find, some are impossible (so far), and some are just hard enough :-)
09/14/2011 09:25:26 PM · #47
I started voting yesterday but may start over. I'm not voting on how hard it is to find Waldo, but whether or not it is a good picture (in my opinion). Even though we have these nifty challenge topics to shoot for, we should still aim for a photograph we'd like to see outside of the challenge, yes? Sometimes we (and I'm included in "we") forget that, and just shoot something to "meet the challenge". That can get kinda "eh" sometimes.

My Waldo is at a lovely 5.4, which is better than the 5.3 I aim for in every challenge, so I'm quite pleased! And I like the picture.

Edit to add: Promise!!!

FWIW some images are just meh, not really trying to hide Waldo or create a compelling image in the process. Others have hidden Waldo quite well and are good interesting images to boot. I'm not trying to vote down the ones where the Waldos are little more than a microscopic cluster of human-shaped dots, but I am more inclined to give a better mark to an image where Waldo is a reasonable size in relation to the rest of the pic.
