Spammer, challenge suggestion or just a fan of this great music?

Personally, I like the music more than the videos.

I've often wondered how someone would deal with the lyrics "I'm pushing an elephant up the stairs" from The Great Beyond, photographically. Actually I think REM lyrics would make a great challenge - would love to see what gyaban would come up with

I saw REM front row dead center New Haven Ct civic center, 1985 life's rich pageant. tour one ofbthe best show ever . The feelies opened up. I then saw them a few years later for the green tour. 10000 maniacs opened. Two fantastic shows, haven't had too much interest since..

Time for a challenge as they have just ended their 31 year career?

Yes, I saw that this morning. It would for sure be a good challenge. Happy I got to see them live now.

I think a challenge is a great idea - however I am struggling to work out a way of capturing his whingey, whiney irritating self important voice and personality in a photo.... hmmmmmmmm.

we talked about this as well- I saw them front row life's rich pageant tour(85-86?)- with the feelies, fantastic show. top 5 for me. I also saw them for document tour-(end of the world as we knowit)- that was great too- then I lost interest.

People can say what they want but they were the first 80's college rock band to reach the top, inspired everyone from nirvana to radiohead- and I believe when they signed with Warner Brother's they were so sought after that they were the first artist with a multi-million dollar contract and full artistic control.

So here's to their legacy, to Athens Georgia, to college music.

about 20 years ago I bought a cassette at a local record store, entitled "Life's rich pageant outtakes" It was demo versions and half versions of all the songs on that album. One of the songs was "Public Service Announcement" It never made the album, and was only released years later by REM as a single.

But, way back when I played it for my band mates in the early 90's and we played that song all the time, at live shows, so much so that it really was ours: we even play it to this day and the drummer still thinks we wrote it.
