Ahhh...leg warmers. I had such an assortment. Ones to match every shirt in my closet. I don't know if you guys in other countries had the whole Jordache jeans fad...but I drove my mother insane with those...had to drive to at least a half a dozen malls to get just the right pair with the purple horsehead logo and stitching...then we had to find the purple Nikes with the white swoosh when those came out, so I could be color coordinated.
Another fave from my early 80s time capsule...Journey. Steve Perry was a poster child for skin tight jeans. Hilarious side note...I still have my Journey Escape Atari game. What a piece of ancient history that game is!!!!

I think we only apreciate time after it passes, 90's were cools too, and I bet in 20 years we're gonna say: "remember the millenium, with the computers and digital photography and Britney Spears and s..t..? oh what a time!!!"
I think thats because in time we only remember the good things. Sure I whant them back too, but can it be without the iron courtain and the cold war please? :))

LOL
I wish I had pictures of me in full late-80's regalia...but I was a bit camera-shy back then. Plus I had that whole introverted, dark "The Cure" thing going on... ;o)
note to self...combat boots, fishnets, and aqua net hairspray REALLY aren't all that attractive together... |
Haha, maybe I did raid your closet. And you are crazy if you think combat boots, fishnet and aquanet don't go together! They so do!!!!!

I miss her so much. She died in an accident in 1993. She was so awesome... very cool, very open-minded, really young at heart!

Here in Holland we've had an I love the '80-hype for the past few years. It's fun, but also a bit emberassing to watch George Michael hop around in his white sweatsuit with neon headbands and knowing I thought it was the best music ever made back then. Especially because my husband is much older, so he doesn't recognize it.
The 80-revival is already decreasing now, it's 70's everywhere you look. |

I admit it, I had "The Perm" back in the day. Hair out to god-knows-where, and dry as toast! I looked like an unruly broomstick: I was pretty thin and very tall, with giganto hair!
Do you guys remember the skirt-over-pants fashion in the late 80's/early 90's? I actually saw someone wearing that the other day, please say it's not coming back!!?

Sadly it is. I work at an art school and some of the students are wandering around with skirts over their jeans... it's horrible. i don't remember that from the 80s. i really dont!

That was known down here as big Texas hair...and boy did we ever have it...the bangs, hairsprayed using the hair dryer to a golden crisp...straight up and out on the top and on the sides...what were we thinking????? LOL
Also, down here, the skirts were worn over leggings and (omg) thermal pajama bottoms...and as embarrassing as it is to admit...I wore it too...what was I thinking?????
