your team does NOT have to be complete to signup. However, it does need to be on of the first 16 teams completed to participate in the WPL.

With the completion on team "Junkyard Dawgs" the WPL has one open slot and one pending slot. There are six users that have signed up for the WPL that has not joined or created a team. With only one slot open and the pending team only needing one person, if you want to join this season WPL you need to act quick. To sum up:

14 Teams Complete
1 Team Pending
1 Slot Open

For all the teams that has not posted a team logo I have put a temporary image holder on your team page until you post your teams logo (if you decide to have a logo.)

Forgive me for posting this if it has already been answered (I honestly don't want to troll through a gajillion pages of back history):

What is the Site Council's view of this contest? Is it within respectability for the members of the site to enter said challenge. Has there been any issues regarding violations of DPC's challenge conduct rules in regards to teams sharing pictures amongst themselves etc. . . Because if it is DPC sanctioned, then it would be okay per permission. . .however, if I am sharing pictures with my team members etc (WHICH is what occurred during the previous DPL, if I am not mistaken) for review. . .then I would technically be violating the rules and could end up banned. I really want to do this, but am unsure of the status of these or other issues.

crowis it is not against the rules to share images with others, or ideas. The issue becomes if you vote on those images unfairly. During the DPL our team routinely shared images with each other for critique, and to choose which one to submit. However, the software prevented us from voting on each others images at all. Prior to that, during the Olympics, we did the same thing. Since this was a unofficial contest, as is the WPL, voting was possible, but in the case of our team was something we all agreed not to do.

The SC is well aware of the WPL. It is not DPC endorsed, or an official part of DPC, but it also is not against the rules.

I know teams maybe wondering whats the next step once the teams are complete. When the final two teams are complete I will start an un-official WPL thread in the side challenge forum. Team captains should be consulting with their team to see what date will be the best start date for this years WPL. One I create the WPL thread we all can discuss and make a determination on what date works best for the majority.

Thanks everyone for participating. My goal with the WPL is to try to give back to a site and it users that have done so much for me. I know I don't have a camera right now but one day I will and all the skill each of you have taught me, I will put to good use. I also hope the WPL will inspire people to enter more often and learn. Yes, it's nice to win but if you don't and yet learn from others...you have won. And the winner, they also learn for everyone else. Let's have fun with a little competition.

Update:
The WPL has it's 16 teams. However, Team Loose Canons needs one more player and Team 16 (name TBA) are in need of three more players.
Captains of these two teams should contact users that have signed up for the WPL that is not on a team yet (not highlighted in green) unless you have another photographer you are talking with about joining.

What are the correct logo specs? Some look much larger than 110 wide x 55 high.

Logos can be up to 120x120. I had said 110x55 but that proved to be to small. Sorry for the confusion.
