The time is longer than 48 hours though. The submission deadline is July 22?
Obviously, the DPC calendar is different than mine...;-)

It might be a speed challenge of one day on Pluto : 6 days, 9 hours, 17 minutes, and 36 seconds ? |

cool challenge idea, way to keep us learning!
If anyone needs any ideas for editing tutorials, I happen to have a site to cater to your needs ;)
//www.tutorvid.com
There aren't any shooting tutorials there though, just Photoshop editing.

This is a bit of a strange one. Was this a challenge suggestion?
It may or may not be interesting, not sure yet, need to think, see what is out there. Usually, when I am trying to get tutorials, they contain loads of high tech, expensive equipment that I have no access to.
Maybe I am just trying to shoot images that are just not going to work unless pro equipment is at hand ;-)
Right, that is it...I am going to enter this challenge and challenge myself to learn something new!

Are you allowed to use editing tutorials or is it just for photographic technique style tutorials?

I don't think it will really matter. Since the link to the tutorial will be in your comments, no one will see it until voting is over anyway, and it doesn't say anything about naming your photo after the tutorial.
Will be interesting to see how people choose to DNMC this challenge! |

Am I supposed to take a low key shot and link a low key tutorial? If I used a "Macro" tutorial, is the image just a macro using the techniques? Or somehow an image of a setup?
Other than there not being a connection between the image and the tutorial i.e. a low key image for a macro tutorial, whats would a DNMC be for this one? |

"and title your entry appropriately based on what the tutorial is about." |

Speaking as someone who's written several of those, I would LOVE to see a photo based on one of mine. :) |

I might have to enter this one.
I just happen to be going to a photography workshop this afternoon. I'm sure that I can find a related tutorial online somewhere. |

In which case, according to Einstein, we should be moving at a significant fraction of light-speed ... make sure you set a custom White Balance to account for the red- (or blue-)shift ... ;-)
We will have to wait for Langdon to act, but I will be treating it as if the 48-hour deadline is the real cut-off. |

I'm in. What a brilliant topic for a website such as DPC, so many people will benefit from this one.
I, for one, got the push I needed to try something I've been meaning to do for a while now, so thanks, DPC, for the incentive. |

I had an idea from a tutoral, hopped in the car. Drove around for over an hour. NOTHING. Came home. Ate pie. |

I can't remember - are those artistic and brush layer filters in PS allowed in advanced? I don't think so. |

It all depends :)
Some people just look at the challenge title, others read the description of the challenge (which says this weekend). |

I thought the whole specificity behind these challenges was the need to get the shot quickly thus making it a bit harder than your average challenge, i maybe could have got a better pic if i thought i had a few more days. |
