Funny, but the real beauty is, even when they are, you don't have to share with them!

I'm on as Johanna Siegmann. No idea even where that link IS. I'm so hopeless with this stuff. But for sure won't be using it to post photos. Just info.

I'd join if somebody added me- here----------> Blindjustice-pauledaddario at google+

I guess I found a bunch and added people to my own DPchallenge circle. I admittedly don't know how exactly info is shared on G+, but...

I only check in on FB a couple of times a week, so I don't expect I would sign up for Google's service unless everyone abandons FB, leaving it a wasteland like MySpace now is. At any rate, I ran into this article on Migrating your information from Facebook to Google+. Thought it would be useful.

Interesting article from the Washington Post warning photographers about the terms for photos on Google+

From the Google+ TOS

By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services.

You agree that this license includes a right for Google to make such Content available to other companies, organizations or individuals with whom Google has relationships for the provision of syndicated services, and to use such Content in connection with the provision of those services.

You understand that Google, in performing the required technical steps to provide the Services to our users, may (a) transmit or distribute your Content over various public networks and in various media; and (b) make such changes to your Content as are necessary to conform and adapt that Content to the technical requirements of connecting networks, devices, services or media. You agree that this license shall permit Google to take these actions.

Be careful out there!

You know, DPC has a very similar TOS. I recall someone recently freaking out about sending in a RAW for validation because they were convinced that Langdon and his minions were going to print it as posters and sell hundreds of thousands of copies...

I see this as pretty much the same thing - effectively they have this in their TOS so they can deliver your photos to whatever device and in whatever format... I'm pretty sure Google isn't going to open themselves up to any sort of litigation over a simple photo - as sure as I am that they won't print your images up as thousands of posters and sell them for a profit - remember, Google is not in the poster business, they do have a fairly diverse business plan, but I'm confident that fine art prints are not yet in their sights.

Relax - that's not in the TOS so they can steal your crap, it's just there to protect them for normal activities that will require changing and distributing the content.

What this is saying is that anyone can grab an image off Google+ and use it as they see fit.

This is the clause I take the most issue with

You agree that this license includes a right for Google to make such Content available to other companies, organizations or individuals with whom Google has relationships for the provision of syndicated services, and to use such Content in connection with the provision of those services.

Anyone they have a relationship with is anyone on Google+. Say my syndicated service is a photo stock agency for web sites. By displaying the photos, Google+ plus is providing me with content I can use for my syndicated service. I can sell these images without compensating the originator.

I've refused to sell photos with less restricting language.

This is nothing like the DPC TOS.

Anyone try deleting images from their Scrapbook?

Let me know how, when you do...
