I'm super broke, too, but somehow I keep buying things for my camera so I'm sure I could come up with a small donation to the site if need be. I figure I'm probably going to sue this site at some point anyway for totally disrupting my life and not allowing me to even think about anything else, well, almost:? )

Brumos,
I don't think this is an artifact of the new submission guidelines, as there has been discussion of these types of comments being left in the past. There is one user in particular who has been known to leave a mostly puzzline one-word comments, but some of her other comments have been constructive. It is unlikely that she is doing this to meep the submission guideline, as she has never posted a photo to a challenge.

I''d be willing to help as well. Would rather see a yearly fee though. Perhaps you could keep the site open for everyone but offer a few "perks" for those who choose to pay membership fees? If enough people are willing to contribute I''m not sure that it would cost that much, would it? Just an idea....
K
oops..had to edit...just wanted to be sure that you knew I''d be willing to contribute without "perks" or membership as well. :P [/i]
Add me to the list on that.... what she said.

It definitely should be yearly. It lets the site know that it has the money for the year and lets them get a deal on a contract. It lets the users make one payment and be done with it.

We''re all photographer''s right? And most of us take pretty good pictures, right? Is there maybe a way we can sell the photos? (With the photographer''s permission, of course) Maybe we could make people pay $10, $15 or $20 for a one of our photos printed out and framed. If we can find a way to mass produce the pictures and sell them to stores, markets...
...Just a thought...

can we make that a double-breasted suit?
seriously though with over 200 hotos submitted its going to get slower especially with all of the people voting and stuff.
Does anyone have access to a good co-lo facility? Id think that latency would be more of a problem than system through put?
Maybe set up a tech board in administrative?
Remember all comenters are reveled for what they are when the voting is done. though I dont pay anyattention to the ones that dont make any sense. |
