...but isn't that the point of having a theme to each challenge? How well your photo fits the challenge is a BIG part of the challenge. If the voters don't think it is NGM quality, then they will vote low. I have a few animal pics and some really "decent" shots from my recent trip to Florida...it is not NGM type stuff so I'm not putting it in.

I have entered an image which I truly love. I dread the voting on this one, because it is not going to be judged to be NGM quality, stature or scope. Such is the current state of the voters' mindset. It's sad and I think it's suppressing challenge entries. I may remove mine before the deadline.

I think I will withdraw mine as well, thankfully I read this, not sure it's up to standard.

On another note...I have many NG that I kept for years. Most of these have covers that do not have the traditional picture on the cover. Some have art, buildings, medical items...etc...I bet the ribbons will have something nature related.

I'm getting hammered and I don't think I want to go through the ignoramus voting. Maybe I should pull it and post it in my gallery...maybe it's a terrible photo, I can take that, but I've not had ONE comment saying even "This is NOT NG typical" and it's sitting at 4.0 average atm. I strongly feel that the challenge description of this very broad shooting style of what is inside NG is not what the average voter believes NG is all about. It's not about some Whale breaching off the coast of Greenland on every cover of theirs. People have the wrong impression.

Correct, PJ (PhotoJournalism) is the mainstay of the magazine. People would get pretty bored pretty quickly (and stop buying the magazine) if all they saw month after month was yawning lions and the mating habits of the East African tree frog. Oh well strike this challenge from memory and move [on]. Eye candy and Post Processing here I come... :)

BTW this is the correct URL : Child Brides
