I've had something in my eye for the past hour or so and whenever I blink it hurts. Have you got any ideas how to get it out? I've tried flushing it out with water but it doesn't seem to do the trick.
About 3 months ago something got in my eye and I ended up having to go to ER and all they did was get a cotton bud and scrape it out, but I can't see that anything's in there!! |

You can buy an eyewash cup cheaply at a pharmacy if you have one close by. It should be more effective than just splashing water at it.

If it's stuck in your eyeball you'll have to get a doctor to get it out. Happened to me years ago, a tiny grain of sand was embedded in my eye and no amount of blinking would get it out. |

The irritant could also be stuck on the underside of your eyelid and scratching whenever you blink. But likely the cause is gone and you have a scratched cornea which feels just like something in the eye. Either way, see an eye doctor, sight is too important. |

Make sure you don't have an eyelash that has turned down (or up for the lowers) and is sticking you in the eye. |

You can create a suction with the eyecup and, with your face down, pull it off your eye. Sometimes this will suck it out. Always keep your head down when trying to wash it out.
