When it comes to textures I'm as dumb as rocks.
* My original idea now a throw away. :) |

On the issue of the date a photo is taken, the rules say it must be taken in the week of the challenge, not that the EXIF date has to be within that range. The honor system seems alive and well here. Submit the shot!
If anyone wanted to cheat, they can change the EXIF info with little effort at all. I doubt anyone would want a photo honestly taken in the correct week to be disqualified because the EXIF date was wrong...
Submit!!! |

Up to you, but when I have thought that way in the past and didn't submit, I looked at the submissions at voting time and kicked myself that I didn't at least try. Jump in, get your hands dirty and learn. That's not to say submit for the sake of submitting, but sometimes it's better than you think.

Just wondering how photos that have been 'inverted' fare here? Of course that is globally. I was experimenting a little in Corel. I had a photo that the original color was just OK, and then tried the 'invert' selection in bw and the transformation was great. Any thoughts. |

Yes, definitely submit. As we have all found.....everyone sees things from a different view/angle.

Well, you must have submitted as there are a whole heap of photos this week! :0) I Can''t Wait!! I''m DYING to see the submissions for Texture. This happens to me every Sat. night, I know, but I''m addicted ("Hello, my name is Karen, and I''m a dpchallengeaholic."..."Welcome, Karen"). Only 2 hrs and 6 minutes left... and counting!
(BTW: 194 submissions so far... Congrats, Drew and Langdon on a successful site!)

I'm in but my hopes aren't very high. :(
On a up note I did get a few really cool pictures this week that have nothing to do with this challenge.

I say, if you like it submitt it. I submit abstract photos and look at how well they do, eerrr, maybe you better not look. ;-/

Inverting (either the color or flipping the image) "traditionally" seems to not score well -- on the average. You will probably get more folks who either really like or really dislike it. I "had" to play with colors (not quite inverting) for my entry to the Fear challenge, and there's an inverted photo in this challenge -- we'll know in a few minutes how that went over.
I say if YOU think it improves the image, or communicates the "message" more effectively, then do it. But if you want a higher average score, stick with tried-and-true (but not cliche) compositions and techniques. |

WOW ! I am so happy with this weeks photos. For the first time in a few weeks I see a LOT of 8 to 10 votes from me. There was some effort and time spent this week on ideas. More than just snap and shoot. IMHO .... I would hate to be a single judge on this week as there are several that are just AWESOME ! Good luck everyone:)

The lession is being learned with my texturte picture. I think I am going to title all my pictures ''I did it on purpose''
