the results finally (after much delay) have been announced. Check it out, a lot a beautiful BW photography there

proud to have received two nominations, in People and Fine Art, for these two
 
I wonder if there are any other DPCers who played?

| I entered a few years ago, two photos... man, waiting is the killer part. It just not worth for me (as an amateur) to enter those kinds of contests, I probably will die natural causes in one of them before the results released. |

Two wonderful shots,  LevT! Congrats. Love the People shot.
I keep thinking about entering some contests. No real downside except the nominal entry fees. Here a couple of sites with a number of contests accepting entries --> Art Shows and Closing Soon.
The Spider Awards entires are superb. That's quite an honor. |

Thanks, Tom! And thanks for the links - quite useful. I think it is well worthwhile to enter other photographic competitions outside DPC, sort of a reality check :). One problem is that there are a lot of photo contests now, with new one coming online as mushroom after summer rain. Most of them are simply business ventures based on collecting entry fees and giving some small part of it back as awards, juried by the organizer/owner himself and/or staff. I try to avoid those. Spider Awards is one the "serious" ones, juried by real experts. |
