Well, I know this has been suggested before

Just to name a few, but I was thinking that since some DPC has been going through some changes, why not throw it out there again. My suggestion would be to have it as an Advanced Editing challenge with a special rule that multiple captures can be combined. I don't think that Expert editing would work as well for a challenge like this, but that's just my opinion. Lastly, I would love to see the size limits changed to make viewing and voting easier. I'm not sure if this is feasible, but something like 1200x 450 perhaps. Anyway, just throwing it out there, what do you all think?

One year later and no response... LoL... So perhaps its time for a bump :) I stumbled across this panoramic shot I did and began thinking again that perhaps this could be a fun challenge.

can we get rid of the 800pixl limit for this one? |

To be effective as a pano, an allowed proportion of as much as 4:1 would be good.
To present an image with detail, it should be at least 400 pixels vertically, which implies a 1600 pixel horizontal dimension allowance.
That amount of screen real estate would need a file size allowance of about 1024 KB to prevent excessive JPG compression.
To avoid the obvious scrolling issues associated with vertical panos, only horizontal panos should be allowed.
Sure, I'd love to have a stitched pano challenge with the allowances mentioned above. If constrained to 800 pixels, there's little point. The technology of image stitching has come very far from where it was years ago.

Although without the special viewer, it isn't nearly as cool.

I'm so glad you quoted that app. I took a picture for a group of people on Sunday with that app, but didn't know the name of the app (it was not my phone, but one of the group). It's a cool app. |

It's the best/easiest pano app I've used. There are a few others but with this you spend less time spinning around looking crazy ;)
