With the selection tool you create a cone and then use levels to darken the rest of the image. Nothing added. Is this allowed? |

I'm not sure, but I think that would be spot editing, and that's not allowed in an open challenge...

That would be fine under the Advanced Editing rules if I understand what you're describing correctly. You are allowed to make selections and apply adjustments selectively under the AE rules. |

Eddy: I am not making a selection. I am creating a selection. You select a hat or anything. I have simply defined a cone shape as a light effect and then used levels to darken the rest of the image. |

That is allowed under advanced editing, but not under basic. The fact that you want an answer quick suggests that you're looking for it for the challenge that ends tonight (Words), which is Basic editing rules. This is not legal under basic.
