Well, a friend of mine is having a hard time with textures. He is going to school for video game design and is currently paying for them via iStockphoto.com. He asked me if there was any way I could help him since I have a camera and bounce flash capable of high resolution images and even lighting. Seeing as how he hooked me up with a practically brand new tower that he built for FREE; I'd really like to help him out on this one. I know GIMP pretty well, so I'm curious, what is the best way to do texturing in GIMP. Mind you, I have never done texturing, so I need to start from scratch. Do you by chance know of any good tutorial videos on youtube? I found some really good ones on seamless texturing once you have a textured image, but my real question is what to do with an image I have shot once I put it in GIMP? So essentially, he would need textures of like wood grain, metal, etc... So I figured I take the shot and texture it for him. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :)
