Found some stuff from my New Mexico trip last October that I hadn't touched yet. A mining museum in Madrid, N.M. that has fallen into disrepair. I don't know what they mined there, but it was a gold mine for anyone who likes photographing rusty-crusty stuff. My stepdaughter was very patient with me. I'll probably fill up the week with just this place.

This weeks topic is totally up my alley, so I'll probably be posting more frequently this week. Especially since my injury keeps me from getting out to take new photos.

This type of sadness is found anytime here but it breaks my heart to the point of not wanting to take photos, especially if the person is aware of it. There are times when they would invite me to photograph them, mostly women, for the pleasure of being noticed, and it's even more painful because they want to smile at you.

A dilapidated old house that I pass driving to where my daughter goes to college. This was in September, 2008.

It looked to be pretty rickety and it was. Less than a year and a half later, January 2010:

Before jumping blithely to flowers and bugs, I wanted to put in context the man and the woman and thank everybody for the comments

Almost 24th here, wont be around so I'll leave my friend here to look after things. He's a Taurus and enjoys long walks along the beach, poetry and poking at dead things with a stick.

I think this side challenge is starting to run out of steam. Maybe we'll give it a rest for a couple of months and try another round later in the year. I've got some bugs for the upcoming week, however.

My first post for the week of bugs & flower power. I'm not much of a flowers person, so you'll mostly be seeing bugs from myself.
