I'd say either one. And I would love to see this happen.

You're not allowed to enter. It wouldn't be fair

I really like the idea of this topic, yet I can see those with easy access to appropriate models already licking their chops, he he ;)

How about adding a requirement that we not use family members as models or do self portraits? This would level the playing field for all, make the outcome less certain, and add some new subjects to the first page.

A Norman Rockwell challenge...hmmmm....I don't have the technical material like the lighting or studio to pull off a convincing shot. Let alone access to charming little potato muffins, obligatory grumpy Grampy types, or kewtsy-poo puppies/kittens etc etc. So, think I'll save myself a lot of aggro and just not enter!

Hmmmmmmm lemme see. Your uncle Raymee has lights and a reflector thingy he could lend you. Finding an old curmudgeon shouldn't be too difficult or you could always bake them cute muffins.

Anyways, I am certain you have oodles of antique things that could easily pass for Rockwell type images.

Let me know if you need the equipment so I can tell you where it is as I am in Australia at the moment.

On of my shots from last year which I felt was Rockwellian...

What do you guys think?

Yes, with a little crop and editing - for sure.

YES to both. The top one obviously would score higher.

I think i'll just re-enter it then. :)

Neil- i love the oddness of the guy standing there. I mean, he must be the cook/chef/whatever, but still...is he?
Looking forward to seeing what shows up in this challenge!

Couldn't help myself, Neil.

I used LucisArt, but any HDR type filter would work. Jack up the saturation, throw a minor paint filter at it (dry brush, then back it off to about 20%).

I don't know if all that is legal in Advanced though. I was really hoping for Expert for this challenge.

I like it! Rockwell captured every day moments, and especially kids being kids.

I really hope this challenge finally puts an end to the 'genius or fool?' controversy.

You might as well hope for a resolution of the Canon vs. Nikon controversy too.
