Ah, so I made a comment on a photo of yours in a challenge you didn´t like so you felt like bashing my work instead? Go nuts mate if it makes you feel better :)

Larus,

In regards to Loki. . .and some of the other shots. As pieces of art they are absolutely fantastic. The editing, photography, and subject matter are all thumbs up. It is religious art work though, and if a person has no connection--or possibly worse--a different understanding of the subject matter. . .well, then it becomes a f*ck-a-thon. LOL.

I don't disregard Loki's ability as a shapeshifter, but as I view Loki as a misunderstood figure in the Norse Religion, I find his repetetive "villian-party-like" interpretations a bit stale. If it were not for Loki killing Baldur--arguably--the events to set up Ragnarok would not occur. . .and since no man or god can cheat the Norns, he was doing an essential job. Unfortunately Loki represents what man most fears (Fire, Intrigue, and Fear of Change). . .so, hence demonization. Sigh.

So, my comment was not as much on your work. . .but the interpretation I felt when looking at it.

Here is my far less skillful rendition, lol:

One of the first photos I submitted after coming back to DPC after a long long break from photography.

I totally agree with you crowis, Loki wasn´t the typical "archvillain" and all around bad guy that most think he was. Anyway, the purpouse of this series is mostly for me and Hallmar to have fun and do something we think is cool.

Here is Þór, god of thunder!

Nice work you two, great photos and great post processing.

Next, Gods from Greek Mythology?

Well funny you should say that, me and Mari wanted to keep this series fun and interesting for us so I guess it´s no longer "Norse gods" but just "Gods".

This is Venus from Roman mythology, we´ll be doing some from Greek mythology as well and maybe even others.

Without a doubt, Baldur and Thor are the best in the series in terms of the composition and PP, but also in terms of capturing emotion/connection.

Excellent effort! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Thx gcoulson. Here are the Þursar, sometimes called "Jötnar" from the old norse mythology, perhaps closest translated to Giants in english. They were race of nature spirits with superhuman strength, sometimes standing in opposition of the old gods but more often than not, mingle with them or even befriend the Æsir.

Larus, I just wanted to say that I really love this series. Your vision really comes through. It's so different from anything I would try, LOL. My hat is off to you, sir.

Thx for the compliments kirbic, and cowboy221977, I might actually enter that challenge, would have to be expert editing though :) I don´t check out what challenges are active that often so if by chance there will be a challenge, will someone send me an email to let me know? lallisig@lallisig.is

Anyway, here are Dagur & Nótt, day and night personified.

Wow. Just found this & spent an enjoyable half-hour paging through them all. Congratulations on finding a great project to work through. You are fortunate in having very talented collaborators. I'm sure these all look even more fabulous full-size--they'd make a fine book. Speaking of which, I have only one suggestion which is to take out the "but," it sounds a little like an apology. Photo by LalliSig. Post-processing by Hallmar. Like that.

Thx for the suggestion pixelpig but really, why do you americans always have to be so "politically correct" on how things are worded? Who cares how I choose to use english? Keep in mind that not all of us speak it as a first language, or even as a second language.

Anyway, here is another version of Loki.

Here is another version of Baldur.
