I've also decided not to put credence on any score until the third or so day of the challenge. I've had too many mid sixes after fifty votes ending up as high fives recently. no point getting excited.

Under this umbrella of "What DPC loves ..." everything goes well and sometimes the humor for which I hoped so much believing that this was truly the point of the challenge, made me lough out loud.
There surely are "serious" wine glasses submitted with the usual diligence that made me yawn again and again and want to run away (to a distant shore, in the sunset, in the rain, in the nude, with a scarf only followed by mice and birds in flight and pets ....), but Mike look at "wanted to shoot one of those aesthetically beautiful wine glasses but ..." |

I enjoyed the humor, as well--I was hoping some people would go there. Although I thought the challenge was the go-ahead to enter a "cliche" shot without getting trolled or receiving snotty comments because of it. Or to give people the go ahead to try one of those shots that you never would have tried because of people's attitudes.
I've never tried a wine glass before, and I probably should so that I can better appreciate what goes into the shot. Unfortunately, there's such a backlash against them, that I'd never try it for a challenge -- unless it's this type of challenge. :)

| Can someone tell me what the issue is regarding wine glasses? I don't mind them...I'm so confused with reactions on this site. Folks should be able to photograph whatever they want without criticism. There is a good lesson in light to be learned by shooting glassware. And I'm a believer that experimentation with all types of content is good. Just my opinion! |

All true. But some members may have entered lots of them over the years hence the reaction. I think the issue is the originality of their entries rather than quality. Some of glasses shots are utter perfection. |

Thanks for your comment Judy...thought I had another competitor for a top 5...lol...outrageous.. early votes...thru 20 of them and the last 38 has brought it down to also ran...what the heck...on to the next Challenge. |

I have just looked at a tiny bit of the portfolio of our new member, onepurplerose who keeps asking intelligent questions. (and came away with two new favorites)
Just about anyone who looks at this portfolio will come away energized and amazed.
