Here are the pictures I've uploaded thus far...all are straight out of the camera. It will take time to actually process the ones that are my favorites, but here's the bulk of them if you are interested. I hadn't been to Galveston since I was 10 or 11 years old, so it was a real treat. I think I brought half the sand and salt from the island back in and on our car, however...LOL!

You have some really great pics Laurie. I really like the one with the five posts and a bird pirched on each one.

Looked at 'em all, but I will enjoy them much more on my monitor at home! Looks like you got some great shots and had a great time! I shot some night scenes with my 6440 and those came out clearer for me - you said you were having trouble with night shooting. I will take another look at those at home, too. Here, they are almost black. You're going away again soon, right? Where to next time?

Another typo edit!

We were all going to Oklahoma the 15th, but I think it might be just me on the 17th for the DPC get-together we're trying to get together. I don't think the kids want another day's drive in the car...that was an experience from the threshold of hell, let me tell you! :o)

Had to share the obligatory seagull-in-flight shot.

Uh oh - that's a protected area - you are not allowed to remove anything - so you need to take the sand and salt back immediately.

LOL

I was shocked at how much sand can accumulate on shoes, feet, beach towels, camera bags (that's another saga...keeping sand out of the camera bag and camera), and kids' toys and swimsuits...not to mention the three hermit crabs "rescued" from the depths of the sea and brought back to live with us (I'm so lucky, I know).
