This digital SLR cameraselling points and features a awesome 2.7" LCD display, awesome 12.4 megapixel, quality CMOS image sensor,first rate face detection up to 16 faces, super widescreen Hi-def video capture, outstanding highly compact SLR body layout and incredibly light & portable, superior modes and options, fantasticsnapshots quality, top battery lifespan, impressive 4.7 FPS capture speed, as a final point a best 18-55mm lens. DPReviews likes it, in its market slot:
"The K-x is a very capable little camera indeed. Pentax has managed to squeeze what is, for this class of camera, an impressive feature set into the camera's minuscule, rather inconspicuous, body and the image quality, especially in low light, is the best we have seen so far in the entry-level bracket of the DSLR market. To put some icing on the cake, all of this comes at a currently, compared to the closest rivals, very attractive price point. To us the lack of visible AF points is the camera's only real drawback but if you can live with this omission you can't go wrong with the Pentax K-x."
Whether it's a good deal or not depends on the price. New, with that lens, it's mostly selling at $525-550...

Having had a bit of 'play' with the K-x I'd second the DPReview summary. In a lot of ways it rivals or even betters my K20D and is reasonably priced new. So, a good, cheap second hand one should represent good value for money.

That price is really a steal! I mean it sounds like "stolen property" pricing! Unless he/she is desperate for cash and selling several things, I would use caution. Worth checking out, though. |
