Hey everyone,

I need to brag a little hehehe. I've been here for a few years now and only now did I get an almost brown (true, I've been away from the site for over a year so I lost my "meet the challenge requirements" touch). I'm in the 10th percentile with this shot

I think it's great but I must admit it was a stretch for bits and pieces!

Who's had an almost/exactly brown shot but liked a lot anyway?

Please share!

Sorry to have kept you from your goal. I thought it was an interesting abstract shot and gave it a 7.

My own brown? Last hour inspiration for the "Brothers Grimm" challenge. Yes, I like it and The comments were fun.

in the 3rd percentile with this one,
but dang it, I still like it!
disembodied leg and all...

Yes, in answer to Bear's question, that disembodied leg was there in the original.
Viveza didn't add the mystery.

Voters didn't buy into my imagination about "children & toys" in the scene. Oh, well. This would have been an orphan image without a challenge, otherwise. This is my first and only "Brown Ribbon" in 394 challenges and a true 0%.

During the challenge voting, my series of bobcat family images was published in the local paper, which eased the pain of the brown designation.

Turns out it was a photojournalism shot. Although, had we had a PJ challenge at the time, it wouldn't have scored well in that, either. Good thing there is life outside of DPC!

Isn't crazy how a shot is still worth loads when taken out of the DPC context :)

Congratulations on your very nice spread in the Estes Park News. There would be no argument, anywhere, on how perfectly it was placed in that category.
