OK...so I notice that no matter what the photograph, I tend to edit in the same way. I've done a couple of weddings, I add glamour glow effect to it, bring the levels up, sharpen where necessary. That's about it. If I start editing a different way I start to feel 'uncomfortable'. This applies to event and non-event stuff. I don't know how to break that cycle and feel good about it.
Right now I'm trying to come up with a good Christmas card of me as a 'bad' Santa...got all my props, tequila, beer, corn chips, dirty face, dirty feet...and for some reason I end up going the same way. I'M STUCK!! HELP!! |

When things are expected to be a certain style, yes, I do. When people hire me to be their wedding photographer or their Hooters Calendar audition photographer, they expect an image similar to ones I've produced in the past.
But, I tend to prevision the final product and shoot FOR the processing I intend to do. Just asimple example, if you want a low contrast image, don't start with high contrast lighting.
